I worked 5 years as a full time pediatric occupational therapist in Brooklyn, NY before starting my part-time side-hustle Pics and Petals. For years I always had creative hobbies that included photography, event design, and floral arranging. While it was all done for friends and family, people always told me I should start a business. I always said "but I have a carreer already." While I loved working in schools helping children reach their potential, I was never as happy as I was when doing these projects. Working with people directly to either capture special moments or make their celebrations special with flowers and personal touches gave me so much joy.  It wasnt until January 2018 that I got my first paid portrait job. That was followed by my first floral design and then my first event design gig (both in one week!). I also began teaching private and corporate flower arranging workshops throughout Brooklyn and Manhattan. Since January I have been involved in all of these creative ventures and I look forward to helping Pics and Petals reach its potential and inspire others to follow their passion like I did.
